Scheduling, cancelling, and retrying a broadcast

Exactly how the 24-hour window is checked for a scheduled send, and what cancel actually does.

Details

Choose Schedule for later in the broadcast composer and pick a date/time at least 5 minutes out, in your device’s own local timezone.

The window is checked at send time, not schedule time

Unlike an immediate send, a scheduled broadcast doesn’t lock in who’s “in-window” the moment you schedule it — every non-opted-out contact is queued, and the 24-hour messaging window is re-checked for real right before each message actually goes out. That means a contact who’s outside the window today but messages you again before your scheduled time will still receive it; conversely, someone who’s in-window today but hasn’t messaged you again by the scheduled moment will be skipped then, not now. The recipient counts you see while scheduling are a snapshot, not a guarantee.

Cancelling

Click Cancel on a scheduled broadcast any time before it starts sending — this deletes it entirely rather than marking it “cancelled,” so if you want to keep a copy of the message for later, duplicate it first. Cancelling only works while the scheduled time is still in the future; if you try to cancel one that’s already started (or finished) sending, TRIGMAZE tells you directly that it’s too late rather than silently doing nothing.

Editing a scheduled broadcast

There’s no in-place edit for a scheduled broadcast’s message, audience, or time today — to change any of those, cancel it and create a new one with the corrected details.

Retrying failed sends

After a broadcast finishes, a Retry failed button appears if any recipient failed (not skipped for being outside the window or opted out) — it re-queues just those recipients. A retry can still fail again for the same reasons as any send: the recipient has since fallen outside the 24-hour window, opted out, or your account hit its DM quota.
